About Frontier Airlines
Frontier Airlines recognizes itself as one of the US low-cost carriers. It is headquartered in Denver, Colorado. It was formed by the merger of three airlines in 1950 - Arizona Airways, Challenger Airlines, and Monarch Airlines. The current Frontier Airlines was an idea of a couple, Janice Brown & Bob Schulman, wherein the latter had an experience of working with original Frontier Airlines (1950 - 1986). Passengers booked their frontier airline reservations, when the company went public in May 1994. By the year 1999, the company acquired a couple of aircraft and expanded on its travel routes. By 2001, it was touted as one of the fastest-growing brand names in the US market. Around 2009, a publicly held company Republic Airways Holdings acquired two airlines - one was Midwest Airlines and the other being Frontier. By 2010, both Midwest & Frontier as one - Frontier Airlines.
The first step to hugely impact the fares was taken in 2014, Frontier airline tickets were simplified into two categories Economy & Classic Plus thereby also redefined its baggage and seat structure. Because of all these structural changes, there was a marked decrease in airfare - almost 12% on average for every nonstop Frontier Airline flights.
Due to its continuous effort of replacing its aircraft fleet with more efficient ones, by 2015, it became an exclusive customer of Airbus and carried the youngest fleet of Airbus under its brand name. The year 2017 was marked by its biggest expansion to date i.e. 21 cities and 84 new routes. Frontier Airlines now operates from its bub at Denver Airport covering almost 100 destinations. There is no exclusive division like Frontier Airline Business Class or Frontier Airline First Class but rather four categories of seats offering different services & amenities.
